John Walters is a 2nd generation chuckwagon driver who will be entering his first year on the WPCA Dodge Pro Tour in 2010. John started his career in 2009 on the CPCA circuit where he won three "Heat of the Nights" over the course of the season. He posted three top ten runs with a third place run at the Saskatoon Exhibition Derby being his best of the year. John qualified for the 2010 WPCA Dodge Pro Tour through a WPCA Qualification Run Off in Bashaw where he posted a second place run on the final day. Prior to driving chuckwagons, John competed for over 20 years in Saddle Bronc Riding and Steer Wrestling, winning overall Saddle Bronc Championships in the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association, the Lakeland Rodeo Association, and the Canadian Cowboys Association, and a year end All Around Championship in the Canadian Cowboys Association as well. Originally from Czar, Alberta, John's father Wordon Walters raced throughbred chuckwagons, chariots and pony wagons for many years starting in the late 1940's, and his brother Ken Walters is a current driver on the CPCA circuit. John is a rancher and is the owner of John Walters Fencing - a custom fencing business in the off season - and enjoys hockey, hunting and being with horses. John and his wife Bonnie have six children, seven grandchildren and make their home in Delburne, Alberta.
