HOST - DAN BUTLER
Veteran radio announcer Dan Butler has over 25 years experience as a broadcaster and on-air personality. Dan has been the Host on the Chuckwagon Radio Network since 2003. Dan’s professional delivery, quick wit and colourful personality have entertained audiences throughout the Chuckwagon Radio Network listening area and worldwide via the internet. Dan is also a professional MC in high demand throughout Alberta.
COLOUR - BILLY MELVILLE
As the grandson of Chuckwagon legend Orville Strandquist, Billy grew up around Chuckwagon racing. He has been the Colour Commentator on the Chuckwagon Radio Network since 2001, and is arguably the most complete and trusted source of information on the sport of Chuckwagon racing today. Billy also doubles as a country music entertainer, and is the older brother to outrider Eddie Melville.
ROVING REPORTER - KIM TOURNIER
As the wife of Chuckwagon Driver Léo Tournier, Kim has a vast knowledge of chuckwagon racing and the people involved in it. Kim joined the Chuckwagon Radio Network in 2006 on the Roving Microphone, where her enthusiasm and outgoing personality has made everyone she interviews feel comfortable, and thus she brings out the very best in everyone through her interviews.
TRACK ANNOUNCER - LES McINTYRE
One thing is for certain, Les McIntyre is the very best at what he does. Les got his start with the wagons as a driver in the 1970’s, traveling with the likes of drivers Ross Nelson and Ward Willard. Les delivers the chuckwagon races with professionalism, class, and excitement, and is a well known and popular chuckwagon personality amongst the fans who follow the WPCA Dodge Pro Tour. He recieved the WPCA Chuckwagon Person of the Year Award in 1998.
SPECIAL GUEST - JOHN DOWN
Since 1978, hall of fame sports writer John Down has been covering Chuckwagon racing through the print media, most recently with the Calgary Herald. John has added his passion, colour, character and insight of Chuckwagon racing at selected stops along the WPCA Dodge Pro Tour on the radio broadcasts for many years, officially becoming part of the Chuckwagon Radio Network Team since 2004. John is also an accomplished amateur golfer.
SPECIAL GUEST - NORM BRAYBROOK
As the official Race Secretary for the World Professional Chuckwagon Association for nearly 20 years, Norm Braybrook’s involvement with Chuckwagon racing goes back over 30 years. Since 2003, Norm has doubled as the official statistician for the Chuckwagon Radio Network’s coverage of the Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby, and has added colour commentary support to the Calgary Stampede broadcasts to Billy Melville and John Down as well.
