A promising young chuckwagon driver, Dave has chosen to compete on the CPCA circuit in 2013 after finishing his second consecutive season on the WPCA Pro Tour. 2012 saw Dave post 6 top ten runs including 2 runs that placed inside the top five. He drove two wagons at the 2012 Colonial Days Fair and placed inside the top ten overall with both. Dave started his career driving thoroughbred chuckwagons in 2010 on the Western Chuckwagon Association (WCA) circuit where a second place run on the opening night of the season at Grande Prairie and an eighth place overall finish at Rycroft were his best of the year. He started driving chariots at age 14 and moved up to pony wagons the following year, and raced pony wagons from British Columbia to Manitoba. He also competed in arena racing in the United States and raced just about everywhere from Missouri west. He caught the bug for the thoroughbred chuckwagons after working for drivers Grant Profit and Mike Vigen back in 1997, credits former driver Wayne Dagg as the one who taught him the most about driving horses, and his father David as his biggest supporter of his chuckwagon career. A graduate of Minot State University, Dave has a B.S. degree in education, and is the former Principal at Lomond Community School. Dave is a former 4H leader and volunteer firefighter, and enjoys horses, hockey and curling. He works as a safety supervisor for CSI Canada Safety in the off season.
