Personal Information
A talented driver and a colourful individual, Darcy enjoyed one of his best seasons on the WPCA Pro Tour and will be making his third career trip to the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby in 2014. He posted 12 top ten runs, including 2 top five runs. Top ten overall finishes at the Strathmore Heritage Days Stampede and the Battle of the North were his best of the year, and a seventeenth place finish in the World Standings is one placing off from his career best in his ten year career.Darcy was the 2004 WPCA Top Rookie Driver, received the 2006 WPCA Most Improved Driver Award, and was the 2009 Colonial Days Fair Champion where he is also the track record holder.  He is the eldest son of former Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Champion the late Herman Flad and older brother to fellow competitor Troy Flad. A rancher in the off-season, Darcy is a graduate of Olds College and has two children - Layne and Cheyenne-Jill. He lists hockey, rodeo, team roping and hunting among his other interests and hobbies. Darcy and Richelle make their home in Bodo, Alberta.
