Personal Information
A classy driver with one of the most impressive on-track resumes combined with off-track credentials, 2012 saw Rick had an outriding horse named to the Calgary Stampede’s inaugural Equine Outfit of Excellence, a horse named to the WPCA’s Equine Outfit of Excellence for the third consecutive year, and he qualified for the winner-take-all final at the North American Chuckwagon Championship. 2012 also saw Rick post 21 top ten runs including 2 first place runs and 11 runs that cracked the top five.Rick was the 2004 World Champion Chuckwagon Driver, received the Calgary Stampede's prestigious Guy Weadick Award in 2005, the Calgary Stampede's Orville Strandquist Award for top rookie driver in 1999, and has qualified for the GMC Rangeland Derby winner–take–all final three times. In addition to his 2004 World Championship, Rick has won 15 major show titles in 17 years of competing on the WPCA Pro Tour giving him one of the highest ratio of wins to years competed of all professional chuckwagon drivers. He outrode for 6 Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Championship outfits and 4 Calgary Stampede Aggregate Winners, received the WPCA Showmanship Award for professionalism in 2001 and was the WPCA's Top Rookie Driver in 1982. Rick is a third generation chuckwagon driver whose grandfather was the legendary Tom Dorchester and stepfather was former World and three-time Calgary Stampede champion Dave Lewis. A very devoted family man, Rick and his wife Sue have three children - Amy, Kaylee and Cody and one grandchild. In the off-season Rick owns and operates Rick Fraser Vacuum Truck Service.
