Personal Information 
A veteran driver who just celebrated twenty years as a chuckwagon driver, Mark won the 2010 WPCA Pro Tour Championship in Strathmore, the 2009 WPCA Clean Drive Award, qualified for the GMC Rangeland Derby’s winner–take–all final in 2009, won the Calgary Stampede's Orville Strandquist Award for Top Rookie Driver in 1996, and is a two–time winner of the Calgary Stampede's Safe Drive Award for Least Penalized Driver. In 2011 he received the WPCA Chuckwagon Person of the Year and had a horse named to the WPCA's Equine Outfit of Excellence. 2012 saw Mark post 17 top ten runs, including a day money run at the Ponoka Stampede, and 9 runs that cracked the top five. He made the semi-final round at the Ponoka Stampede and was encana’s "Food Driver of the Year" for the second consecutive year. Known as the “High Tech Redneck,” Mark pioneered the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology as a tool for chuckwagon training, and along with his father Kelly, hosted their own local Calgary television series entitled “Heat of the Moment” in fall of 2012. Mark enjoys computers, hockey, fishing, and training horses when he is not racing chuckwagons. A native of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Mark and his wife Dina, the who received the 2007 Ty Tournier Memorial Award and the WPCA’s Special Recognition Award in 2010 for her work on the book entitled “Beyond the Half Mile,” and their two children - Kiera and Dayton, now make their home near Okotoks, Alberta.
